“Never see a need without doing something about it.” St Mary of the Cross MackillopThis somewhat simple phrase by our beloved patron saint who celebrates her feast day tomorrow is one that embodies a good community. Here at CtK everyday I see staff and students putting this in action in small and big ways. And an extra special mention to our parents and families who are able to lend a hand whether it be at big events like our recent Bush Dance and Book Fair, or in other ways like the volunteers who take books home from the library to cover or who have helped organise events behind the scenes. I would like to take a moment to thank the staff, parents, families and parish members for all of your great work in making CtK the vibrant and beautiful place it is today.
Last week some of our students and their families took a big step in becoming more fully engaged in the Catholic Church through the Sacrament of Confirmation and Sacrament of Eucharist. Such an exciting time, particularly for the students as they take this step in their faith journey. Congratulations to Lily B, Sage, Priya, Julie, Ryan B & James! Please be aware that Monday the 12th of August is a public holiday for us here at CtK. It is also the day that our building project begins with safety fences being erected while we are enjoying our day off. Due to the building project, assemblies will move back to the hall until further notice. There may be some changes to the pick-up and drop off flow of traffic at times. We ask that you please be patient and refer to the official school Facebook Page and BCE Connect for real-time updates. During this time there will also be more vehicles in our carpark. PLEASE actively supervise your children in the carpark. Children under 10 years of age should be holding hands with an adult while in the carpark especially at busy times like pick-up.
