Last week we had the ever engaging and inspiring Andrew Chinn visit to launch another
song for our school. Andrew first visited our school over 18 years ago. This was the first
time he had seen his name on a school sign. He took a photo to show his Mum. Above
his name was our school moto ‘Side by side we grow’. This gave him some inspiration for
some song lyrics. After visiting some other schools and gathering more inspiration,
Andrew contacted CTK all those years ago with the ‘Rainbow’ song. Andrew has sang our
song all over the world and it is one of his all-time number one songs.
We invited Andrew
back last year, to write another song that incorporated our 4 values of Hope, Justice,
Compassion and Courage. Due to Covid a small group of students and Andrew worked on
writing and singing this song. Last week he worked with all the students to launch this
new song. He even took some footage to put together a video clip to go on his website.
‘Side by side we grow’ is not replacing our ‘Rainbow’ song, in the words of Mrs Conley it is
just another number 1 hit on the CTK album. The students and teachers had a brilliant
day singing and dancing….we can’t wait to sing both our songs at upcoming liturgies and
masses.
