Term 3 comes to a close

Another action-packed fortnight has passed! A huge thank you to Mrs Breakspear who has coordinated Gala Day, our participation in the Sunshine Coast Lightning Cup, Dance Fever and our Colour Blast last week. Our students at CtK always make us so proud on such occasions with their exceptional behaviour and team spirit. I am looking forward to travelling to Bundaberg next weekend to watch our netball team participate in the Origin Netball Competition.

For those who managed to make it to the closure of Dance Fever on Tuesday, I hope you enjoyed it as much as we did. Again, very proud of our students for getting up and sharing their dances with us. It was quite a spectacular! Well done to the parents who got up and joined in the last dance.

We were delighted to welcome our new Brisbane Catholic Education Executive Director, Dr Sally Towns to Christ the King on Tuesday. Mrs Towns along with Mr Horton, spent some time in classrooms talking to students and staff. Dr Towns congratulated all staff on our significant improvement in NAPLAN this year. We are looking forward to seeing our continued improvement and growth in coming years.

It has been another huge term here at CtK and the students have certainly earned a break. They have worked extremely hard on their reading and writing goals and shown persistence and diligence. They are extremely proud of their achievements, as they should be. A huge thank you to all our teachers who never take their foot off the accelerator and target teaching to suit every learner sitting in front of them, it is no easy task!

Our original plan was for the carpark construction to begin these holidays, however with most construction at the moment we have hit a few snags. I suspect we will commence sometime during term 4. All information will be shared with you once I know. We will also have a new back fence, Yarning Circle and covered walkways being constructed next term. It will be busy!!

I wish you all a great break with your delightful children and look forward to seeing them refreshed and ready to go Tuesday 4th October, ready to tackle term 4.
