Policy Statement

Christ the King_045.jpgChrist the King Primary School has as its first obligation the Catholic children of St Eugene’s Parish, followed next by Catholic children from outside the parish.

In keeping with the Strategic Renewal Framework 2016-2020, we are aware of the concepts of quality and inclusiveness. Children from other denominations may be accepted, provided there is sufficient space, their families are supportive of our Catholic ethos and that it is felt that we can fulfil a genuine need which could not be met elsewhere.

Procedures

Names are taken as an expression of interest up to 3 years prior to the anticipated enrolment.  Applications are mailed out on request.

All applications for enrolment must be accompanied by a $20.00 non-refundable application fee to cover enrolment administration costs.

Interviews for the preparatory year of schooling are held late in term 2 for the following year and places will be offered by the beginning of term 3.  Interviews for other year levels are held on request.

For all applications, an interview will be held for the family with a member of the school’s administration team.

All offers of a place will be made in writing.  An offer is deemed to have been confirmed once the Confirmation of Enrolment has been returned to the school and a non-refundable enrolment fee of $50 has been paid.  The enrolment fee is deducted from the first term’s fees account.  We have an expectation that accepting our offer of a place is done in good faith.

Withdrawing your child at the last moment may disadvantage the school and other families.

Places will be offered with consideration to the Archdiocese of Brisbane, Catholic Education Council Enrolment of Students in Catholic Schools Policy and Brisbane Catholic Education guidelines.

Following the enrolment process, places are offered to:-

  • Siblings and baptised Catholic children of families who are active members of Burpengary Parish;
    • Parish Priest may be asked to act as referee for family
  • Baptised Catholic children of families  residing in the Burpengary Parish;
  • Baptised Catholic children of families who are members of another Parish;
  • Baptised Children of other Christian faith traditions whose family’s value and support the Catholic religious aspect of education.
  • Children of other Religious traditions whose families value and support the Catholic religious aspect of education.
  • Children whose families value and support the Catholic religious aspect of education.

* Order of priority within each of these categories will be at the discretion of the Principal in collaboration with the Parish Priest where appropriate.
